Pilot Production Journal: Day 1

Wrapped first day of shooting on the pilot I am working on. Wish I had more to report, but it was pretty boring, very straight forward. No drama, no trauma, not much to report. My last production diary, from "Penn & Teller: Off the Deep End" was far more interesting. One day I will tell you all about it. That was definitely a life-changing experience.

We have two more days of shooting.

Woah! Crazy! I just saw a really crappy commercial for a local car dealership that included lots of half-assed singing and dancing. One of the main ladies in it just auditioned for me last week. Crazy! She was pretty good but very wrong for our role.

Sorry, what was I saying? right, more shooting. Hopefully it will go smoothly. It is weird to work on the weekend. I don't mind it so much (I am unemployed so often I'll take all the work I can get) but days lose all meaning. I lose track of the days. On the aforementioned Penn & Teller show, we worked such long hours, and I was in the production office every day, that I couldn't figure out what day it was. To this day, I have a sketchy memory on what scenes were shot on which days.

Now I'm rambling. I shall go. I am tired and have an 8:30am call.
