Pilot Production Journal: Days 2 & 3
by Saturday I was annoyed with the whole production. There were 5 producers on set, no director, no AD, no DP. Everyone was giving half-assed instructions and nothing was really gelling. At some point I decided that I was going to take over and on multiple occasions told them what shots i thought they should do. And fuck knows I am no director. Didn't matter anyway, no one listened.
Sunday luckily was a short day for me - I didn't have to go down to skid row with the rest of the production. All in all, the shoot itself went well. The script suffered from major problems (that I could have fixed had anyone cared enough) but whatever. I think the whole concept of the show is highly flawed.
I was exhausted by sunday. Surly and barely able to keep my head up (hence i am late filing my report). i ended up sleeping 11 hours, which is almost unheard of for me - I usually do 6 hours of sleep, 7 if I am not working. I guess that is what working a 7 day work week will do to you - with three of those days set days (which are exhausting. 2 12 hour days, 1 8 hour day)
This is my prediction: the show will be picked up, go to series, air, and be cancelled due to horrible ratings.
